Proxim släpper nya uppdateringar på QB8100 länk, MP.11 (5054-serien) och ProximVision ES.

New functionality release for our QB-81xx-LNK/EPR/EPA series of MiMo PtP links:

  • 5 MHz and 10 MHz Channel Support
    • This software release will add support for 5MHz and 10MHz channel bandwidths in addition to the current 20MHz & 40MHz channel bandwidth, which will enable the service providers to have the flexibility in spectrum configuration.

  • Basic Satellite DFS
    • Tsunami 8100 products will now be fully compliant with ETSI 301 893 v1.4.1 and 301 502 v1.2.1, by implementing DFS functionality in Endpoint B.
  • T1/E1 Optimizations
    • This release will add T1/E1 optimizations which will significantly improve the device capacity in supporting TDMA traffic.

  • Text Based Configuration
    • The software will support a template based configuration where the configuration of the device can be downloaded as an xml file, updated and loaded back on to the device.
  • Broadcast/Multicast-Storm Threshold Filtering
    • This release will add support for advanced bridging feature like Storm threshold filtering which will protect the network from constant broadcast or multicast traffic.

New functionality release for our MP.11 series of PtP and PtMP links:

  • Enhanced QoS to support PPPoE encapsulated frames
    • PPPoE protocol is used in most of the WISP applications for internet connectivity. It is now possible to use QoS Packet Identification Rules for PPPoE encapsulated traffic.

  • Improved VLAN configuration
    • Traditionally MP.11 SU used to get its VLAN configuration information from BSU. It is now possible to configure VLAN mode and parameters locally on the SU. This configuration allows VLAN interoperability with MP-8100 BSU (in legacy mode) and most importantly overcomes several issues which are common with VLAN in roaming environments.
  • QoS and VLAN provisioning via RADIUS
    • Tsunami MP.11 SU can now get its VLAN configuration and QOS service class assignment from RADIUS server via Vendor Specific Attributes (VSA). Tsunami MP.11 allows for SU MAC Authentication against a RADIUS server upon association. During this MAC Authentication process, the RADIUS server can return QoS class and VLAN configuration (provisioning).

  • Spectrum Analyzer
    • In order to help installer to select the best channel and to debug the interference problems, BSU and SU now include a Spectrum Analyzer tool. Spectrum Analyzer scans the configured band (based on country code configuration and Frequency Edge Filter) per 5 MHz slice.  BSU and SU can scan the entire current operating spectrum and will display cost histogram for each channel. This allows administrator or installer to pick the best operating channel. Also the flexibility to select the frequency band to scan (lower and higher frequency, or lower frequency and band size) is available.
  • Enhanced Default Parameters
    • To improve out-of-the-box experience, some of the parameters are pre-configured to achieve an optimal link in any environment:
      • Default Multicast Rate is set to 6 Mbps
      • Default value for “DFS Antenna Gain” is changed from 0 to 17
      • In “United States DFS” country code, it is possible to Enable DFS Backup Channel in 5.8GHz band.
      • New “Poland 5.8GHz” country code
      • Operating frequency can be filtered to reduce SU scanning time
      • Default Latency and Jitter are set to 10 ms for Unlimited Best Effort QoS Service Flow
      • New L2 Broadcast class is added to QoS Service Class

  • SNTP, DNS Proxy
    • Tsunami MP.11 now supports SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) in order to synchronize the unit’s internal clock with real time information. Tsunami MP.11 can connect to the SNTP server via its IP address or its DNS name. Further all event log messages will be tagged with real network time when SNTP is enabled.
  • Syslog
    • Tsunami QB/MP.11 now implements RFC 3164 based Syslog support to relay events logged on local system to a remote syslog server.

  • Improved bandwidth management
    • It is now possible to determine how the bandwidth limitation mechanism behaves when the traffic utilization exceeds the configured input/output limits. This will optimize bandwidth management. Two bandwidth limit types (identical to QB/MP-8100 WORP configuration) are introduced to achieve this:
      • Policing
      • Shaping
  • Extra SNMP traps
    • To improve remote management capability, a few extra SNMP traps are added. They are:
      • oriTrapSUDisAssociated
      • oriTrapSUEthernetStatusUp/oriTrapSUEthernetStatusDown
      • oriTrapI2CBUSbusy
      • oriTrapChannelChange
      • oriTrapResetDueToRXInactivitytimer
      • oriTrapWORPErrorCountThresholdReached
      • oriTrapRSSIDropThresholdReached

  • 5.4 GHz band adaptation to ETSI new rules
    • Tsunami QB/MP.11 products will be fully compliant with ETSI 301 893 v1.4.1
  • Basic Satellite DFS
    • In order to be compliant with ETSI 301 893 v1.4.1 and 301 502 v1.2.1, MP.11 SU adds Slave DFS functionality. When enabled, Satellite performs radar detection according to DFS rules.

  • WORP optimization parameters
    • In order to optimize WORP protocol and adapt it to traffic specificity, it is now possible to configure the WORP core operating parameters
      • Max Retries
      • WORP MTU
      • Super Packeting enable/disable
